Baby Series #8

Hope you had fun reading the Baby series #7 post

For those of us who wish we were babies again, remember babies have a busier schedule than most of us. They are the fastest learners and are observing and grasping almost everything they see, touch and smell all at the same time. So let’s take a peek at their busy day lying around while managing to keep their parents on their toes.

Write all about what they love doing, what’s their favorite toy and also their favorite dress.
On the other side of this we have more dets on the baby’s life, what makes them happy and so on.
This little page opens up to hold pictures and journaling inside.
Stay tuned for the next series post to see more pages from the book.

Baby Series #7

Hope you had fun reading the Baby series #6 post.
These days babies get social media attention more than anyone. How many likes and comments do you put on Facebook and Twitter for your friends who have just become new parents? Any parent would want to hold on to those wishes even though they are electronic these days. Hey physical evidence is always better, in case Facebook decides to take all your wishes down someday.
These two pages are all about Social Media. We have The Times Of India layout on one side and social media layout on the other.
The right side is The Times of India front page with Mr. Obama on one side and Cricketer Yuvraj on the other. The headlines reads “A star has emerged today” and place for a picture.
It has little details about the day like, Today’s weather and gas price on the side bar. The Breaking news section has tidbits about Today’s news, Leaders today and In theaters today. I would like to thank my bestie Gayathri here for helping me with this layout. All I had to tell her was make this soon to come baby the headlines and she made the magic happen. She is the best!
On the left side we come to all the social media sites. There is a place to write all about your status update on Facebook or Twitter. The journal card has “You are so loved” written on it. A picture of your little one’s first social media appearance would fit perfectly in that polaroid photo frame.
The second half of the page holds a pocket with a huge Insta sweet icon. This is a perfect place to preserve the screenshots of your social media pages.

Can you see those zillion shiny cameras at the background? That’s paparazzi guys! *wink*. How fun was today’s layout. I just love it.

Baby Series #5

Happy Hump day! Hope you had fun reading the Baby series #4 post.

Let’s move on to the next pages of the book today. Measuring a baby’s growth is so exciting. You meet any parent (even mine), they will tell you how fast their baby grew up. How tiny you were once and look at you now. If you have said it to someone else about your baby, congratulations, you are already a great parent.
Do you wanna compare your baby’s growth to how little he/she was when they first came into this world versus today? Today’s double side layout will let you see for yourself.

Let’s go into the details of each page.
Left Page

The title reads  Love Beyond Measure”. Below that is a growth chart with a scale pointing out to each month of the baby’s first year. Of course, I had to put in the Giraffe to show how tall they have grown.

Here’s a closer look at the growth chart.
It has 3 columns with headings weight, length and milestones. All you have to do is write in your baby stats and be amazed at how fast your baby grew up.
Now coming to the right side of the layout, as I said you can actually see how tiny they were when  you first saw them.
It is such a simple layout but imagine baby hand and feet prints in each one of those spots. The title is right in the middle and reads “Tiny Blessings”.
That’s it for today. Stay tuned for the next series post to see more pages from the book.

Baby Series #4

Hope you had fun reading the Baby series #3 post.

Happy Monday! This post should lighten your Monday morning mood. Keep reading..

Today we are moving on to the next few pages from the Baby Book. The first page has a stork holding a baby peeking its head out on  top of a vintage pinkish plum colored picture frame. The sentiment below says “Sent from Heaven”.

The second half of the page is all about the stats of the new born. The flowers are punched out and the eye and hair colors are distressed.

The second and third pages hold all the FIRSTS of the baby. Everything he/she figured how to do for the very first time. The parents would want to hold on to it forever.

Each one of these flip open as cards and has space to hold a picture of the baby and for the parents to write all about the moment.
A closer look pagewise

Some of these cards hold small embellishments even inside. Like this one below, the first food card has a baby bottle outside and a matching baby bib inside.

The other side of the layout has 6 more firsts. As you can see I left 3 of those empty for the parents to fill. Hey, each baby is different after all. The parents can brag about their little kiddo here.
Here is a list of firsts:
  • 1st night home with a little moon on a cloud and a heart.
  • 1st food on a blush pink and gold banner and blue baby bottle.
  • 1st haircut with scissors.
  • 1st bath with a baby having bubble bath and a rubber ducky.
  • 1st car ride with a 3d car embellishment.
  • 1st stroll with a 3d stroller embellishment.
  • 1st tooth with a shiny smilie tooth.
  • 1st steps with two 3d baby boots.
Each of these cards are secured using strings. I did this coz it gets easier to hold up more pictures in case it gets bulky.

That’s it for today. Stay tuned for the next series post to see more pages from the book.

Baby book (Baby Series #3)

Hope you had fun reading the Baby series #2 post.

This post is for the expecting moms wondering how to stay calm while their baby is going to come any day now or for their friends attending baby showers and wondering what to gift their glowing friend with the baby bump.

Baby Album

Nope, it’s not one of those generic baby planners which forces you to write what they have predesigned for your rockstar baby. This is tailored to what you want to see in a baby book. You want it as a planner? Done! You want it as a photo album? Done! You want it to hold hospital tags of your baby and act as a photo album too? Done & Done!

All you have to do is tell me what you want each page of your baby book to hold. I will make it happen for you.

This baby book is for a dear friend who is gifting it to her sister in law. She saw so many books online and took ideas from EVERYWHERE and came to me. We sat together and tailored it to the mother’s expectations. I plan on showing you this book in 3 or 4 parts as it has so much details on each page that you don’t want to miss it.

So here it comes:

Cover Page

I made the front and back of the book look like wooden board. It’s a wooden patterned paper. The four little boxes on top that says BABY are 4 tiny little shakers.

Front Cover Page

Here’s a closer look at the shakers. Inside the shakers we have tiny colorful hearts and stars to match the color of the whole page.

(Excuse the bad lighting.)

The banner below that is for the mom to write the baby’s name on it to make it more personalized. There is a picture frame below the name banner for a picture of the little one.
Now coming to the dimensions of the book. This is a 8.5 x 10 inches chipboard book which means every page is chipboard; not just the front and the back covers. It is ring bound and convenient for the parents to add even random things like an outgrown onesie of the baby may be.
Come on in and see the inside pages.
Inside Cover & 1st Page

The page on the left is the inside cover. It opens like a card and top of the card has lyrics of “Twinkle twinkle little star” written on it. Guess what? It even sings the song for you.

(Note: It’s the first time I am trying to upload a video up on the blog. For those not able to view it, please let me know so that I can find a way to fix it.)
This page has record and play buttons inside for the mom to record her baby say it’s first words or first cry. They can hold on to it forever.
That’s it for today. Stay tuned for the next series post to see more pages from the book.
Sorry for the long post.

Baby Shower Party Favors (Baby Series #2)

Hope you had fun reading the Baby series #1 post. Now that we have our invitations out of the way, lets move on to planning some awesome party. Gifts and pampering is assured. But to make the Baby shower a success we need to redress our space to make our guests feel like partying. So here’s our party favor cupcake holders to get the party rollin’.

This cupcake holder is the PURRRFFEECTTT way to say “Bun in the oven” or should i say “Cupcake in the oven”.  These are pink in color as I made them for a darling friend who bakes some yummilicious cupcakes. She ordered a baby book (Hint: Coming next in the series *wink*) and i thought won’t it be just awesome for her to bake one of her handmade cupcakes and give it to the expecting mom inside this warm oven? For those of you wondering how big this is, the dimensions of this box is 3 x 3 x 3 inches. It is sturdy enough to hold a cupcake and even cookies as my baker friend suggested. If you want to add a TON of frosting on your cupcake and want me to make the dimensions bigger I can absolutely do it for you.

The oven door has a clear sheet on it to keep the cupcake safe and also allows a little sneak peak of what flavors you like. I have added Congratulations to the handle of the oven door as this is a box for the mother. But if you want it for a baby shower we can make it say anything you want, like my friend wants some of these and might want to put her shop name on it (she is still deciding on that). The back side of the oven has space for a little personal message too.
These cupcake boxes are not exclusively for baby showers. They can even be a birthday party favor or you can add little candies inside for friends to carry with them when they leave. And yes my indian friends, it can hold indian sweets too.

Congratulations! (Baby Series #1)

When you know your friend or a family member is expecting a baby, you just wanna hug them and congratulate them. A even better way to spread this joy is by giving them a congratulations card.

This card is a pretty pink and brown combination and brings out so much cuteness with fours onesies hanging from a string. Pink and brown I feel is the perfect combo for a baby and mom card.
I used little safety pins as background and they have a glossy finish to it. The brown background is textured too. The banner wishing “Congratulations on your new bundle of joy” is fastened using two gold brads. This is a top folding card and can hold a personal message for the new parents inside.

This card can be a very nice way to announce your new arrival to your friends and family. If you already know your baby’s gender we can even switch these colors to the one’s you like or may be add your little ones name on it. Imagine sending out these cards to invite your friends to your baby shower.
