Happy Valentine’s Day Series Day 2

Wish you all a very happy Valentine’s day. Hope you guys enjoyed the Day 1 post of Valentine’s day series. Who doesn’t enjoy a  delicious piece of cake or cookies for valentine’s day? But you know that feeling of just wanting to gaze at a yummy looking slice of cake and not eat it. So today’s post is something creative and fun for two different age groups, you and your little one. I got inspired by some online crafts and made these at home. They are a faux cake and two faux cookies.
I plan on making a tutorial on how to make the faux cake. Please let me know if you are interested by commenting below. And here is the video.

Some pictures of this mouth watering piece of cake and some love sprinkled cookies.

No, they are not edible. They are just for decoration and for spreading some love.  You can make one slice of this cake and mail it to your dear ones for birthdays.

Happy Valentine’s Day Series Day 1

Hi guys,

It’s the time of the year when we all express our love to our loved ones and our friends and family. I am eager to share with you all some handmade canvases and a handmade card for this valentines day.

So here are two different versions of the canvases. The first one is of a young couple showered with love.

I love the tiny details of her sparkling earring and her beaded belt. The intricate corners of the canvas brings the whole canvas together. The 3 dominant colors used are black, white and red which is so simple yet brings so much color and love to the picture.

The second version of this is that of a more classy looking older couple. The elegance is brought through the rich attire of the gentleman in a suit and the lady in a gown with her hair tied up. I have added little sparkle in her ring and her hairdo has red beads.

Let’s see both the canvases side by side. The so in love young couple and the matured and totally in love older couple.

With these two canvases I made a wedding card with some really intricate design. I made the card in a beautiful plum color with a contrast beige background and to tie it all together I used a rich satin ribbon.

The intricate lace design layering the beige has a shiny finish to it making it more rich and festive.

Happy Teacher’s day!

Wishing all my teachers a very Happy Teacher’s day! This day is so special as it’s the only day we get to give back to our teachers who have given us so much. They teach you and guide you to the right path without expecting anything in return. Incredible! I want to take this opportunity to thank all my teachers for grooming me and making me who I am today. And the least I could do for all that love and guidance is show them my gratitude through this card.

To all my wonderful teachers, this is for you.

This card has so much hidden meaning. The background is filled with tiny anchors which I think our teachers are for us. They make sure you stay in the right path always just like an anchor.

I am back after a break of two blog posts as I had some last minute shipping to do. I promise, you will soon have your eyes on it.
Yay! We are here at the final page of the baby book. Since I missed two posts, I decided to give you a bundle on this one. This post has the last pages and a video coming up. For those of you who are on a time crunch or have missed the baby series posts, scroll down to the end of this post for the video and the links to the other posts from this series.

Check out this page with 12 months of the baby and the cute clock denoting the time of birth.

You can move the hands of the clock to set the time of birth and cherish that moment forever.

The page below is the end cover page and can hold a picture of the whole family and has a huge pocket below.

The end cover of the book has the same wood grain finish as the front. I just love this finish.

Baby Series #8

Hope you had fun reading the Baby series #7 post

For those of us who wish we were babies again, remember babies have a busier schedule than most of us. They are the fastest learners and are observing and grasping almost everything they see, touch and smell all at the same time. So let’s take a peek at their busy day lying around while managing to keep their parents on their toes.

Write all about what they love doing, what’s their favorite toy and also their favorite dress.
On the other side of this we have more dets on the baby’s life, what makes them happy and so on.
This little page opens up to hold pictures and journaling inside.
Stay tuned for the next series post to see more pages from the book.

Baby Series #7

Hope you had fun reading the Baby series #6 post.
These days babies get social media attention more than anyone. How many likes and comments do you put on Facebook and Twitter for your friends who have just become new parents? Any parent would want to hold on to those wishes even though they are electronic these days. Hey physical evidence is always better, in case Facebook decides to take all your wishes down someday.
These two pages are all about Social Media. We have The Times Of India layout on one side and social media layout on the other.
The right side is The Times of India front page with Mr. Obama on one side and Cricketer Yuvraj on the other. The headlines reads “A star has emerged today” and place for a picture.
It has little details about the day like, Today’s weather and gas price on the side bar. The Breaking news section has tidbits about Today’s news, Leaders today and In theaters today. I would like to thank my bestie Gayathri here for helping me with this layout. All I had to tell her was make this soon to come baby the headlines and she made the magic happen. She is the best!
On the left side we come to all the social media sites. There is a place to write all about your status update on Facebook or Twitter. The journal card has “You are so loved” written on it. A picture of your little one’s first social media appearance would fit perfectly in that polaroid photo frame.
The second half of the page holds a pocket with a huge Insta sweet icon. This is a perfect place to preserve the screenshots of your social media pages.

Can you see those zillion shiny cameras at the background? That’s paparazzi guys! *wink*. How fun was today’s layout. I just love it.
Stay tuned for the next series post to see more pages from the book.

Baby Series #6

TGIF guys! Hope you had fun reading the Baby series #5 post.

Today’s layout is all about Mommy & Daddy! Moms & dads have their own little tiffs claiming that the baby has taken after them. This is just a proof for the baby to see for itself, whom he/she has taken after.

The set of questions are identical for both mom and dad. So no fighting over that! The left page says Mommy its you & me and the right says Daddy its you & me.

I am not going to crowd this post by writing each question here. Just a few should give you the idea.
  • Mommy’s full name
  • Mommy’s nick name
  • Where was she born
  • Which school did she go to
  • What does mom call me

The three circles open up and have spaces for journaling and pictures inside. so this layout can hold from 6-12 pictures. You can even stick baby pictures of the parents and the baby showing resemblance.
I have added a little sticker on top of each page saying “So Cute” for mommy and “So Cool” for the daddy page. Below each page, I have added borders of little baby elephants holding on to each other and on the other side its a row of hearts.
Stay tuned for the next series post to see more pages from the book.
